Group Coaching
Group coaching provides a confidential online setting that allows family members to receive help connecting to the rational core within their loved ones delusional framework and form an alliance to work on problems together. Based on the approach outlined Schizophrenia: A Blueprint for Recovery, the coaching guides participants to recognize good seeds, work to develop a rapport using shared vocabulary, come to understand the thinking and experiences of the person in psychosis and post-psychosis, and develop a plan to move the situation forward. Participants often find comfort in the confidential setting sharing their stories and struggles with others going through the same challenges.
In addition to his own material, during group coaching milt draws on numerous approaches developed by peers, family members, and professionals on working with people in psychosis and post-psychosis. Coaching is tailored to the specific situation the caregiver is experiencing to provide practical, concrete help.
Coaching groups are limited to 10 participants per group to allow as much individual attention and discussion as possible. Groups run in 10 weekly hour long sessions at a cost of $150 total ($15 per session).
